Your adventure begins early! Your guide will pick you up directly from your Cusco hotel early in the morning to start your journey towards Lares. During the scenic drive, we stop briefly at the charming village of Calca, a vibrant place known for its colorful local market. Wander among bustling stalls selling local produce, delicious breakfast options, snacks, and handy trekking supplies. On your guide's recommendation, you can pick up freshly baked bread to share with friendly local children along your hiking trail.

Relaxation at Lares Hot Springs & Lunch  

Upon reaching the picturesque village of Lares, you will have the opportunity to unwind in the village's. Allow these natural thermal pools, set amid splendid mountain scenery, to rejuvenate your body and soul as your professional cooks prepare a delicious lunch nearby.

Hiking to Huacawasi Campsite 

Energized and refreshed by lunch, begin your first trek. Starting gently and ascending gradually for about 4 hours, the hike is the perfect introduction to the magnificent Andean landscapes. Enjoy panoramic views, encounter friendly communities, and breathe deeply the crisp mountain air. Today is great preparation for tomorrow's challenging high-altitude trekking.

Welcoming Evening in Huacawasi 

Arrive at your first night’s campsite in the picturesque village of Huacawasi (3,850m altitude), home to your friendly horsemen who accompany you on your journey. Upon your arrival, find your tents already set, and warm yourself with hot tea, delicious popcorn, and snacks, all thoughtfully prepared by your expert guides and cooks. Finish the day sharing dinner with your trekking companions under the starlit Peruvian sky.

Morning Ascent to Ipsay Qocha Pass 

Wake-up refreshed and savor a nutritious breakfast to energize for the day's extraordinary adventure. Today you'll hike upward towards Ipsay Qocha Pass—the highest and most rewarding point of your trek at 4400 meters (14,435 feet). Prepare yourself for a steep, challenging but immensely rewarding trail of approximately 3 hours' duration, passing through awe-inspiring mountain scenery.

Enormous Peaks & Local Wildlife

As you steadily ascend, marvel at spectacular surroundings: imposing mountains, wandering herds of furry llamas and alpacas grazing leisurely, and vibrant patches of agricultural landscapes blending harmoniously with nature. Along your journey, pause occasionally to catch your breath and immerse yourself in breathtaking views, observing nature's tranquil beauty. Be prepared for chilly temperatures; layered clothing is recommended for comfort along the higher altitudes.

Lunch by the Stunning Ipsay Qocha Lagoon

After reaching the scenic heights, begin your descent (approximately 30 minutes) to reach the idyllic Ipsay Qocha Lagoon (4350m). The turquoise waters shimmering against rugged mountains create a postcard-perfect setting. Here, beside the calm shores of this crystal clear lagoon, relax and savor a delicious lunch prepared freshly by your trekking chef.

Afternoon Hike & Journey to Ollantaytambo

Rested and well-fed, hike downhill through lush valleys and quaint countryside for approximately 2 hours, arriving at the traditional Andean village of Patacancha. From Patacancha, easily accessible transportation awaits to transfer you comfortably to the charming historic town of Ollantaytambo.
