Early Morning: Departure from La Paz

06:30-07:00 AM – Your Bolivian journey kicks off as you’re picked up from your hotel for a picturesque bus ride to Copacabana. Sit back and enjoy Andean views as the city gives way to breathtaking lake vistas.

Tiquina Strait Crossing

Around 09:45 AM – Arrive at the Tiquina Strait, where you’ll board a small ferry to glide across Lake Titicaca’s sparkling waters—a brief but memorable 20-minute crossing.

Arrival in Copacabana

Around Noon – Step off the bus in the lakeside town of Copacabana. Enjoy some leisure time to savor local cuisine or stroll its vibrant streets.

Ferry to Sun Island

01:00 PM – Board another ferry for a serene 1.5-hour cruise across the vast, blue expanse of Lake Titicaca towards the mythical Sun Island.

Sun Island Exploration

Land on Sun Island, where your guide provides a map for self-guided explorations. Wander the sacred ruins of the Pilkokaina Sun Temple and the tranquil coastline of Yumani, surrounded by panoramic lake views and ancient Incan legends.

Sun Island Morning Wonders

Start your day with unstructured time to bask in the tranquil beauty of Sun Island. Stroll through ancient terraced paths, admire panoramic lake vistas, or simply soak up the sun at your own pace.

Northern Adventure & Hike

Hop on a public boat to the island’s northern tip, a scenic 30-minute cruise across the lake. From here, embark on a breathtaking 3-hour hike back south along trails lined with epic views of Lake Titicaca and traditional Andean villages.

Discover the Gold Museum

While at the north end, step inside the enchanting Gold Museum—a tiny treasure trove brimming with fascinating recovered artifacts and golden relics from Incan times.

Fountain of Youth

Don’t miss the legendary Fountain of Youth, where three streams of water—each with their own nickname—invite you to take a sip and believe in the promise of eternal youth.

Return to Copacabana (15:30)

In the afternoon, regroup at Yumani port for a ferry back to Copacabana. Relish the fading sun over the lake as you say farewell to the island.

Border Crossing to Peru

On arrival at Copacabana, board your bus toward the border at Kasani. Your guide will assist with migration formalities and afterward, enjoy a brief 5-minute walk as you cross into Peru. Meet your new guide and bus on the Peruvian side.

Evening Arrival in Puno

Sit back for a rewarding 3-hour drive to the vibrant city of Puno, arriving around 20:00. Enjoy free time for dinner and a taste of the local nightlife before continuing on your comfortable overnight bus to Cusco.
